Banana Blossoms
Banana Blossoms, also known as a “banana heart”, is a fleshy, purple-skinned flower, shaped like a tear, which grows at the end of a banana fruit cluster.

Breadfruit
Breadfruit is a large football-sized fruit. It has prickly, yellow-green skin and a round to oblong shape. Cooked Breadfruit has a mild potato-like flavour, and as its name implies, the scent is reminiscent of freshly baked bread.

Buddha's Hand
Golden yellow, and the non-stem end separates and extends into elongated, finger-like segments. Underneath the rind, the flesh is generally void of juice, seeds, and pulp and only contains a thick and spongy, white pith that bears a sweet flavour. Buddha’s Hand citron has a bitter-sweet, bright and floral flavour.

CoconutsBrown coconuts are mature fruits from the coconut palm. The outer shell has a coarse brown hair-like texture. Inside the shell is a cavity filled with clear juice, known as coconut water (not coconut milk), and a layer of firm white meat.

Coconuts, Green
Green coconuts have a smooth, green, and very hard outer shell. Fresh coconut water is drunk straight from the coconut or can be used in both cooked and raw recipes.

Coconuts, Young
The young coconut is harvested directly from the tree before it has time to age and drop like the more mature white and brown husked coconuts. Inside is a refreshing juice and a soft jelly-like meat.

Dragon Fruit (Pitahayas)
Vibrant fuscia skin conceals creamy white flesh dotted with small black seeds. Mild flavour and juicy.

Dragon Fruit (Yellow)
Oblong shape and are slightly smaller in size than the pink varieties. Juicy texture and tropical flavour much sweeter than that of Pink Pitaya.

Durian
Durian fruit is notorious for its distinguishable, malodorous aroma, which has been compared to that of Limburger cheese, rotting onions, and even gasoline.

Figs
Depending on the time of year we carry a number of different figs including Black Mission Figs, Green Figs, Tiger Figs and White Figs.

Ginseng
Its skin is coarse, knobby, cream coloured, earth-stained and scarred, the scars indicating the age of the root. It often has various thin spindly branching and fibrous extensions evolving from its base.

Golden Kiwi
Bronze toned, smooth, hairless paper-thin skin. Its flavours are sweet and tropical with notes of pineapple and mango.

Granadilla
The rind is smooth, firm, and thick, initially green when young, darkening to an orange-yellow hue with maturity. Underneath the outer shell, there is a layer of white, sticky, and spongy pith, encasing a translucent pulp with many small, flat black seeds.

Guava
The flesh is unique to many fruits, its texture a combination of a firm banana with the succulence of an apple. Tiny edible seeds pattern the flesh's core.

Jackfruit
The jackfruit is a multiple fruit composed of hundreds to thousands of individual flowers, and the fleshy petals of the unripe fruit are eaten.

Kiwi Fruit
Emerald green firm pulp is dotted with a large amount of nearly black tiny edible seeds.

Kumquats
Unlike citruses, the entire fruit is edible, although the few seeds buried in the flesh are recommended to be removed.

Lemons
Peel is semi-thick, porous and laden with essential oils. The flesh is translucent yellow and juicy when ripe. Its juice is highly acidic and tart. Our most commonly inventoried size is the 115. However smaller or larger Lemons are also available.

Lemons, Meyer
Highly fragrant; the rinds are full of volatile oils. Their pulp is low in acid, aromatic, floral and sweet. Meyer lemons are only moderately seedy.

Lemonquats
The Lemonquat is a hybrid between a Meyer Lemon and a Kumquat.

Limes
Green, thin, and porous peel, which, when zested releases floral aromatics. Flesh is a pale green colour, fragrant, juicy and tart with a sour bite. We typically carry a size 42 Lime.

Finger limes are known as the caviar of citrus. Their aromatic smooth but pebbled skin appears in a triad of colours.

Galamansi Limes also known as Calamondin, Philippine Lime, or Philippine Lemon.

The segmented, seed-bearing flesh contains a sweet-tart juice, a trademark that sets it apart from common limes.

Lime Leaves
Abundant sweet citrus smell. Mature darker green leaves are preferred for use over the younger, less aromatic leaves.

Longans
Thin rough-to-prickly brown easy to remove shell. Inside is a large smooth jet-black seed with a white ovoid characteristic mark. Having a flesh reminiscent of a peeled grape, the flavour is wonderfully sweet and often described as a mysterious tasting blend of musk, spruce and gardenia.

Lychee Nuts
Roughly the size of a walnut, and their leathery skin is covered with tiny spikes. The pearly-white pulp is covered in juice and houses a dark-brown seed at its centre, which can vary in size from 1/2 inch to 1 inch in length, depending on the variety. The firm yet gelatinous pulp is chewy and juicy with a sweet, fruity flavour.

Mangoes
Red, yellow, or green on the outside, are smooth-skinned, and have yellow to bright orange flesh and a sweet, sometimes tart flavour.

Mangos, Ataulfo
Smaller in size and less fibrous than a traditional mango, the skin of the Ataulfo Mango is tough and the flesh is soft, sweet and juicy.

Mangoes, Baby
Small, round, and flat in shape. Baby Mangoes are crisp, acidic, and tangy with nuances of sweet, tropical flavours.

Mangoes, Green
Green Mangoes have green skin and a crisp sour taste as they are not fully ripe.

Mangosteen
It has a thick, smooth, leathery, burgundy-colored shell with about four to eight flat and woody lobes. Encased in the thick skin are an average of five or six triangular floral-scented segments of white, juicy, soft flesh, which is either seedless or contains just a few flat seeds. Mangosteens offer a sweet-tart tropical flavour with notes of lychee, peach, strawberry, pineapple, and caramel or butter.

Medjool Dates
Glossy brown skin is tender and supple and encases dark amber interior. Slightly chewy and succulent, the meaty pulp surrounds an elongated pit.

Papaya
Greenish-yellow skin. Flesh is orange when ripe. Contains numerous round, shiny, inedible black seeds in its centre cavity.

Papayas, Green
It is semi-firm and succulent, easily pierced when ripe. The flesh's flavour is lean and subtly sweet. Its seeds are tart and peppery.

The firm skin is yellow. The flesh is orange and just like the other Papayas, it contains small black seeds in the middle.

The juicy interior is filled with numerous seeds with a tropical sweet tart flavour with nuances of pineapple, papaya, mango, citrus and guava.

Paw Paw - Ontario
Why do we have a local fruit listed in the tropical section? Good question. This fruit that grows — not commonly, mind you — along the rivers and in the forests of some parts of southern Ontario that tastes like a tropical fruit. Some say it tastes like a mango, others a papaya, or perhaps a banana.

Pineapples, Gold
Tropical fruit covered in a hexagonal patterned, rough and waxy rind. Rind is green to yellow in colour and covered in spiked protuberances.

Pineapples, Honey Glow
Honeyglow® Pineapple takes its name from being a high shell colour fruit, with honey gold colour outside and inside, thanks to the prolonged maturation on the plant. It is later on carefully selected and handpicked at the Del Monte plantations in Costa Rica. The production of Honeyglow® Pineapples is limited, making this product unique and exclusive.

Pineapples, Pink Glow
In comparison to the typical golden pineapple, Pink Glow Pineapples are sweeter and less acidic with a “cotton candy” finish.

Persimmons, Fuyu
Squat and rounded shape. Texture varies from crisp and succulent when young, to a tender and gelatinous texture as they mature.

Persimmons, Hachiya
Rounded, slightly elongated and acorn-shaped, coming to a blunted point at their non-stem end. When fully ripe the fruits are a beautiful deep orange.

Yellow-orange, thin-skinned spherical fruits with slightly flattened ends. Also known as the Vanilla Kaki Persimmon.

Pomegranates
Each seed is enclosed in a clear, bright red pulp that offers a sweet-tart taste with notes of cranberry, rhubarb, red currant and concord grape.

Rambutan
There are many different varieties of Rambutan with unique appearances, ranging in colour from red, orange, yellow to a blend of these hues. Rambutans are aromatic and have a sweet, fruity flavour with mild acidity, containing subtle notes of strawberries and grapes.

Sharon Fruit
